  • How the Sam’s Kingdom colouring books grow with the reader

Sam’s Kingdom was built around the idea that creative adventures should grow with the person enjoying them. That is why the colouring series is split into age ranges rather than giving every reader the same kind of page.

    Book 1: a gentle beginning

Book 1 is designed for ages 3–4, with larger shapes, simpler scenes and an easy first introduction to the Kingdom’s characters.

Book 2: more story and detail

Book 2, for ages 5–9, adds richer scenes and more opportunities to follow the characters through an adventure while still keeping the pages accessible to younger artists.

Books 3 and 4: growing with the reader

Books 3 and 4 move toward more detailed art and longer story-led adventures for ages 10–13 and 14–17. The aim is to make each stage feel like a genuine step forward rather than simply repeating the same book with smaller lines.

    Creativity without pressure

There is no “correct” way to colour the Kingdom. Readers can follow the story, invent their own colours, change the look of a character or simply enjoy a quiet creative activity.

  • Eight free printable activities arrive in the Castle

The Castle’s free activity library is now open with printable puzzles that families can download directly from Sam’s Kingdom.

    Eight free activities

The first collection includes word searches, kids’ Sudoku puzzles, spot-the-difference challenges and mazes. Each download includes an answer page, and there is no basket or checkout for the free files.

    Different ages and challenge levels

The activities range from gentle puzzles for younger children to trickier challenges for older players. Each card on the activity page shows the suggested age and type of challenge before you download it.

    Why we made them

Sam’s Kingdom is meant to be more than a shop or a game. The free library gives families something useful to print, share and enjoy away from the screen as well.

  • Kingdoms Under Siege enters public beta

Kingdoms Under Siege is now in public beta. That means players can create their kingdoms, recruit troops, build defences, explore adventures and begin testing the systems that will shape the full game.

    What players can do now

The current beta includes kingdom creation, troop recruitment, equipment, defences, spying, trading, adventures, leaderboards and player-versus-player battles. The game is also connected to the wider Sam’s Kingdom account and Passport system.

    What we are testing

Real players help us see whether gold costs feel fair, whether army strengths make sense, whether food matters enough, and whether messages and battle reports are clear. We are also testing mobile play and the installable web-app experience.

    What is coming next

Work continues on richer battlefield battles, more adventures, alliance features, improved reports, new media, and clearer guidance for new players. Balance will continue to change as more kingdoms join.

    How to help

If you find an error, confusing screen, missing reward or unexpected battle result, please tell us what happened. Public beta is not just early access—it is a chance for the first players to help shape the game.
